ROLE: FRACTIONAL HEAD OF SOCIAL

Cosmo brought me on in 2024 when it became clear they needed to invest in social media. They had product-market fit, but their small marketing team of two was too strapped for bandwidth to know where and how to take on social. I came on to build out their strategy, flesh out how to get content, and launch their first social campaigns. After two years together, the team has scaled to two full-time social media hires and a wildly active community. Now I get to be their sounding board for new ideas, format development, and how to stay ahead of the curve.


Project #1: Launching founder-led content

Cosmo had one secret weapon in their tool kit untapped for social potential: a founder who was fantastic on camera. Over the course of 6 months, I worked with Russell directly to build out his at-home studio, orchestrate a filming process, and develop different formats & scripts for YouTube & Instagram.

The end result was a ready-to-go content pipeline for Russell to be the face of the company and humanize the brand. Check out some of the content we created below.


Project #2: Initiating Cosmo’s first creator-led campaign

One of the biggest priorities when we started working together was preparing for the back to school season—a major sales opportunity for the brand. Most of Cosmo’s previous campaign efforts were orchestrated through paid social and Google ads. This time around they wanted to try something different: launch an organic social campaign paired with creators.

I led the charge building a 90-day action plan to activate Cosmo’s Instagram handle, source credible & interesting creators, & make sure all content was optimized for sales.

The results?

  • Organic social drove 42% of all new website visitors

  • Cosmo’s Instagram account gained 26.4k followers (+364%)

  • Our content reached 1.7M people with 52.6k engagements

Many of the creators we initiated then are still partners of the brand today.


Project #3: Scaling original formats & ownable social content

Beyond creator-led content, the team and I wanted to test out creating formats entirely ownable by Cosmo. From founder-led content by Russell to creating a Cosmo sponsored athlete program for endless content opportunities, I helped develop out scripts, shot lists, and managed edits to bring these fresh ideas across the finish line.
